The monthly and quarterly checks that keep commercial cold rooms running and protect your stock.
Cold room compressors rarely fail without warning. Rising running temperatures, ice build-up on the evaporator and longer defrost cycles are all early signals. A written schedule catches these before stock is lost.
Clean the condenser coils, check the door seals, log the running temperature at the same time of day, and inspect the evaporator for ice. Replace any bulbs that are out and confirm the alarm is working.
Test refrigerant pressures, inspect electrical connections, check the drain line for blockages, and verify defrost timings. Lubricate hinges and adjust door closers.
Any unusual noise, oil around the compressor, rapid temperature swings or a rising electricity bill is a reason to book a service. Waiting usually turns a small repair into a full compressor replacement.
